How do I become a contributing designer for Envelop?
All you need, to become an contributing designer for Envelop, is an online portfolio.
Envelop is all about promoting off-road home textiles. If you desire to contribute to Envelop to sell and expose your textile designs, we need to be sure that you have a unique, personal vision on graphic design.
Moreover, buyers of Envelop products do value graphic talents: they appreciate shape, understand the use of colour, and often want to know more about the person behind a design.
So, if you want to apply for Envelop, we therefore want you to show us an online portfolio, as a proof a dedication, ambition and, in a certain way, skills: we only want to work with talents that are able to generate a certain amount of visual output, and in the same time have enough ambition to gather some of this output somewhere on the internet.
In fact, it's just a matter of dealing with people that exposure credibility. Although it certainly is a an aspect the Envelop customer is looking for, we also want to shine a light on true creatives.
Setting this buffer will allow us to give exposure to those who really need it.
IMPORTANT: We don’t ask your online portfolio to consist of a custom built personal website - any well kept community or network-profile that contains images of your work will do.
IMPORTANT: In case your current creative activity is mainly oriented towards commissioned or business to business design, please try to add enough personal work to your portfolio.
If you'd like to customize our templates, you'll also need Adobe Photoshop.
Our templates and mockup tools are created in Adobe Photoshop. Consequently, you will need it to open the templates, and to create previews. We chose Photoshop because it is a widely spread and flexible tool. In the future we might eventually issue toolboxes that contain templates created in other software.
Find out more on www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/family/, or check http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ for free trials.

How do I get paid?
We can pay royalties either as store credit (a Gift card), or in cash if you provide us with a valid PayPal account and if your earnings exeed €50.
What's a PayPal account?
Using PayPal you can safely link a bank account to an email-adress. If you open a free account at www.paypal.com, we simply connect your Envelop account to this PayPal account, from which you can transfer your earnings back to your regular bank account.
Are there any alternative payment methods?
No, at the moment we only issue (1) store credit (Gift cards) and (2) cash payment via PayPal.
↑
How long does it take to get paid?
As soon as your textile item gets sold, your earnings appear on your account. Most payments by PayPal are processed within 48 hours. Store credit is issued immediately.
Do I get payed if a customer returns an item?
Yes, always. If a customer returns the item because of a production failure, we strongly believe that this may never be the designers problem. If we release your design into the shops, this means that we are convinced that the technical requirements of your file are fulfilled – that your part of the job is done. Envelop is responsible for any returns.
What if my total earnings are under €50?
You’re able to request a payout only if your earnings are over €50. We’ve set this limit because of practical and cost-cutting reasons.
All earnings under €50 can be changed into store credit. Choose 'Request a gift card' in the Earnings-tab of your account, and we'll issue an Envelop Gift Card which you'll be able to spend in the Envelop Shops yourself, or to send it to a friend.
↑
My Envelop account is over €50, how do I request a payout?
Sign in to your personal account and select the Earnings tab. Click on ‘Request Payment’. Remark: this button will only be activated when the total amount on your balance is over €50!
↑
Do I have to request payment every time I reach €50?
No. We will keep your earnings on your account until you request a payout.
↑
As soon as I reach €50, can I request just a part of it?
If you request a payout, we will issue the total of your earnings. You won’t be able to request a part of it, also because of cost-cutting and practical reasons.

No. A free account is really free.
Why should I create an Envelop account?
Besides the fun, five reasons:
A. Submit your own textile designs, in order to get them into the Envelop shops,
B. Earn cash every time a design of yours gets sold (12,5% of the retail price),
C. Get your own Envelop Designer Shop which will feature your designs only,
D. Promote your shop by using your unique URL, www.envelop.eu/shop/shop-name,
E. Show your vision on (textile)design to a diverse and large crowd of professionals in graphic
design, advertising, fashion, architecture and interior.
How do I create my Envelop account?
1) You can reach the registration form by going to the tab ‘Designers’, and click the Sign Up-link or button. Enter your email address and choose a password.
Be sure to consult the Supplier Agreement you find in the frame. To proceed the registering procedure, you have to agree to them by ticking the 'I Agree'-box, followed by clicking the Next Step-button.
2) Complete the registration form by adding:
- First Name, Name, Address: we need this info for administration purposes only. Note that only your country and city will appear on the site.
- Gender, Birthdate: just for the record - you decide if you want to show it or not.

All personal information entered will be kept private on our servers. Please consult our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for more information.
Why do I have to refer to an online portfolio?
How do I close my Envelop account?
Want to break up? No hard feelings. Still, we need to close your account on this end, so we can make sure to send you any earnings. Send a request to cancel your account to membercare@envelop.eu. Please include your full name, screen name, email address you use with your account, and password for verification. We'll let you know once your account has been closed.
How do I sign into my Envelop account?
You can start by going to the category ‘Design’. Add your email adress and password to the Sign In-box on the right.
I’ve created an account, but I don’t appear in the Contributors list, nor do I have my personal designer shop.
That’s because you haven’t uploaded a design yet. As soon as you’ve successfully uploaded your first item, you’ll appear in the contributors list, be able to reach your personal designer corner and to manage your account.
What if I forgot my password? Is my personal information secure?
If you forget your password you can have it sent to your registered email address. Simply go to the Sign In-box in the Design tab, enter in your email address and click on the 'Forgot Your Password?'-link. We will send your password to the registered email address on your account.
What’s the shop name, and can I change it in my Envelop account?
You choose your shop name while creating your account. This name will also appear together with your avatar, and in your Envelop URL, thus being www.envelop.eu/shop/my-shop-name. This shop name is fixed, you can’t change it afterwards because otherwise external links using your URL would be broken, and customers searching for your name would feel a bit lost.
How do I update my registration information?
Sign in to enter your account. Click the Edit Profile-button and start updating your Account or Shop setting. Don't forget to hit the Save Settings-button at the bottom of the page!
Can I delete an item?
You can’t delete an item right on the spot: that wouldn’t be fair regarding the people that bookmarked or wishlisted your item (e.g. to buy later on). On the other hand, you always can set the Expiration Date of the item: it’s the future date on which this item disappears from the shops.
Remark: Envelop automatically counts a 6-week buffer between today and the earliest possible Expiration Date.
How do I set an Expiration Date?
Sign in to your account, click My Designs in the submenu, and then easily set the Expiration Date.
The first Expiration Date you’ll be able to set will be 6 weeks after the day you set the Expiration Date. We create this buffer to allow customers, who bookmarked your item in their wishlist, to buy it before it disappears.
Can I arrange my textile items into categories?
Yes, you can organise them into categories - we've called them 'Collections'.
Can I use my Designer Shop to promote things like exhibitions and such?
Sure. You’re allowed to add any promotional content in the 'Describe yourself' field of your profile.
What are your Terms Of Use?
The Terms Of Use-document is more or less a set of rules you, as a visitor of the site, have to follow. Find them here.
What is the Supplier Agreement?
The Supplier Agreement governs the relationshop between you - as contributing designer and member - and us, Envelop. You can find it here.
What is your Privacy Policy?
The Privacy Policy explains what we're allowed and not allowed to do with the information you add to the site, as a visitor. Find it here.
Where and what are your Sales Conditions?
